Early Times Report Jammu, May 4: Prof Neelam Saraf from Hindi Department, University of Jammu was awarded with Doctor of Letters by the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra on the topic " Hindi Lekhekikayon Ke Upnayason Mein Samajik Samasayen". Prof Saraf has more than 36 years of rich experience in higher education. And academic as a scholar with distinguished and proven track record of teaching, publication, research and administration at various levels including the responsibility of Dean Academic Affair and also diverse experience at both the college and the university level along with the publication of seven full length books and innumerable conference presentations, research reports, treatises and paper in scholarly journals since 1978. She has become the only professor among the present serving faculty of JU, who are recipient of D.Lit. Prof. Saraf is a senior most professor at University of Jammu. Formerly head of Hindi department and Dean Academic Affair, Prof.Saraf was also awarded by Central Hindi Directorate, Union HRD Ministry for authoring a book, Upnayas: Ek Sanskritic Yatra. In the past, Prof Saraf has been Dean Academic Affair (2012-15), Director Academic Staff College (July 2011-12), Dean Faculty of Oriental Learning (1999-2002), Dean Faculty of Arts (2005-2008), Coordinator of Kashmir Migrant cell (PG Programmes, 2008-2011), Chairperson Committee against Sexual Harassment (2009-2012), HOD Department of Hindi (2005-2012 and 1999-2002), Convener Board of Studies of Hindi (1999 -present) and Coordinator Correspondent Programme of the PG Department of Hindi (1999-2012). She was appointed as professor in 1999 on open merit basis. |
