IGP gets central deputation, posting in home state | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 4: An IGP rank officer of J&K police, has got central deputation due to strong political connections, sources told Early Times on Wednesday. They said the 1993 batch IPS officer of the IGP rank, got the central deputation despite him not applying for it. The state, sources said, has received a letter from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), asking it to relieve the officer at the earliest. The MHA is said to have further posted him in his home district. They said the IGP managed to get the central deputation and posting in his home district after some politicians of his state allegedly took up his case with MHA. "However, there are other IPS officers of JK cadre who have applied for central deputation through proper channel but have yet not got it only because they do not have any political connections," sources alleged. It may be mentioned here that several IPS officers of J&K cadre have been serving in their home states for the past few years. The government is yet to call them back. |
