BARAMULLA, May 5: Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) organized one day convention here at Dak Bungalow. Hitting hard on the government, Chairman JKTF Abdul Qayoom Wani said the transfer policy in education department has broken into pieces with same creating mess.
Hundreds of teachers from different nook and corner of the district took part in the convention.
Addressing a huge gathering of teachers, Chairman JKTF said the forum has fought over many issues with the government not only for teachers, but for the welfare of all employees. He said that they have left no stone unturned in resolving the issues of teachers.
"Government has done many dramas on various issues, there was a big controversy that ReTs will be forced to sit in the examinations which has disrespected the whole community at large. Though we replied them with, tooth and nai' and government was sent on back foot, for which our verdict was endorsed by the court and government was left with no option, to accept their defeat," said Qayoom.
The JKTF Chairman said that Super 50 centers were not coaching centers but tuition centers. He alleged that in the name of Super 50 the Education Minister, Director and Commissioner Education have cheated the then late Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
He further said that, the basic objective of these super fifty was to grant an education to the poor students of far flung areas to their doorsteps, so that they could prove their mettle in professional colleges but that didn't happen.
"The concerned Minister and Director School Education did a big drama over the education policy, they framed it after which I was also taken into confidence where I had suggested and endorsed that, education policy is good for the sake of employees. If there would have been an education policy in education department, teachers might not have faced any sort of problems with regard to their transfers but now they are suffer at large. It has exposed that the education policy was good for nothing," JKTF Chairman.
He said if there would have been a systematic way in transfers of teachers corruption would not have taken place. He said in a single day 50 transfers were made while as on the next day 70 modifications took place. "It clearly shows that transfer policy has broken into pieces. The transfer mela has created mess for the employees of education department."
