Early Times Report Srinagar, May 05: Noted filmmaker Mani Ratnam, whose film Roja catapulted him to national acclaim, is returning to Kashmir after 24 years to shoot his upcoming film starring Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari. Ratnam's Roja, which was dubbed in Hindi, was partly set in Kashmir against the backdrop of terrorism, and the director is all set to start shooting of his upcoming film in the valley by September. Buzz is that Karthi will be playing a pilot in the untitled project, while Aditi will play a doctor. The storyline of the film has been kept under wraps but the film's crew along with Ratnam have made trips to Kashmir to acquire permissions to shoot in the valley. The director's 2015-film O Kadhal Kanmani is being remade into a Hindi film by Shaad Ali, an erstwhile assistant of Ratnam. The film is titled OK Jaanu and will star Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor. |
