Srinagar, May 5: Making a to and fro journey between Baramulla and Srinagar, the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today formally flagged off two super-fast trains in Anantnag adding the train service in Kashmir to 30 a day. Interestingly, the super-fast trains skip Mehbooba's home town Bijbehara. She boarded the train that had scores of students on board from various schools and special invitees. Member Parliament Muzaffar Hussain Beigh and many other ministers were accompanying the Chief Minister. With the introduction of these super-fast trains, the summer capital, Srinagar will be barely 35 minutes away from Anantnag in south and Baramulla in north. The train, however, would require close to two hours in chugging the entire operational track. "This will ease the traffic mess on the highway and help employees and students especially," she said at the occasion. |
