Jammu, May 6: Prof. V.K Gupta, Professor (Statistics) ICAR on Friday visited Division of Statistics and Computer Sciences, SKUAST-Jammu and interacted with the Dean, HoDs, faculty members and PG students of Faculty of Basic sciences.
According to press release, Prof. Gupta, while delivering a lecture, briefed about the importance and role of statistics in day to day life and deliberated upon its applications in the field of Agriculture, basic Sciences and other applied sciences.
He emphasized the linkage between the statisticians and the researchers in order to have valid inferences for future policy planning. He also made presentation through design resource server, sample survey server developed by the team of Indian Agricultural Statistical Research Institute, New Delhi led by Prof. Gupta and made aware the faculty and students about the role of design of experiment and sampling designs.
Prof. T.A.S. Ganai, Director Education, Prof.R.K.Gupta, Dean, FBSc and HOD's were also present on this occasion. |
