BJP's opposition to NEET betrayal of Jammu cause: Hari Om
5/6/2016 11:29:36 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, May 6: The Jammu for India (JFI) on Friday held an emergency meeting to review the situation arising out of the nasty opposition of PDP-BJP coalition Government to the Supreme Court's order that vouched for one common National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) across the country for under-graduate medical courses.
Speaking on the occasion, convener of JFI, Prof Hari Om, charged the BJP with playing with the career of the talented Jammu youth and dismissed the BJP's senseless opposition to the NEET as yet another act of betrayal. The opposition of the BJP to the NEET is a conspiracy hatched against the Jammu youth and the country as a whole and the people of Jammu will not condone this crime of the BJP, he said.
"By invoking atrocious Articles 370 and 35-A of the Indian Constitution to oppose the NEET, the BJP has not only betrayed the cause of Jammu youth but also the noble cause of the nation. Its opposition to the NEET is an act designed not only to harm the Jammu talent but also to perpetuate Kashmiri domination and hegemony over Jammu and further drive J&K state away from India," said the JFI convener, adding that the political conduct of the BJP is worse than that of the PDP, the NC, the Congress and Kashmiri separatists.
"The BJP sought and got mandate from Jammu on Jammu and nation-specific planks. It's disgusting that it has been using this mandate to further enslave Jammu, promote Kashmiri Muslim sub-nationalism and drive J&K away from India step by step. The BJP has turned out to be a sin for Jammu and mouthpiece of Kashmiri leadership, both separatist and semi-separatist, and it will have to pay through its nose for the sins it has been committing since March 2015," said Prof Hari Om.
The JFI convener said that the J&K Competent Authority is fundamentally Kashmir-centric and patently anti-Jammu, and added that the Jammu's talented youth has never got its due share in the state-based professional and technical institutions.
"Almost all the seats available in the state-based technical and professional colleges have become the sole preserve of Kashmiri youth," he asserted, adding that if the Jammu youth is to obtain their due share in these institutions, the J&K Competent Authority has to be thrown out lock, stock and barrel and J&K brought under the ambit of the NEET. The JFI also adopted a resolution that censured and blacklisted the BJP and urged the people of Jammu province, cutting across party lines and religious denominations, to stand up and fight out the anti-Jammu BJP to save Jammu and save India. The resolution said: "It has become imperative to defeat the perverted BJP, which has set-in-motion a process that will drive J&K away from India, endanger the minorities and convert the state into a theocratic state". "It is the fundamental duty of the people of Jammu province to stand up and fight to not only defend and protect themselves and their cause but also to defend and promote further the national cause, as the unity and integrity of India depends on what happens in Jammu province" the resolution further said.
Among others who attended the emergency meeting included Dheeraj Pargal, YR Gupta, Dr Ajay Chrungoo, Devender Choudhary, Sham Lal Bassan, Pushpinder Singh, Dr Agnishekhar, Ajatshatru Singh, Ashok Kumar and Rajesh Dutta.
