Early Times Report Jammu, May 23: Shamsheer Hakla Poonchi Gujjar leader urged upon Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to continue reservation in promotions. According to press release, he said that every sphere of life, reservation is the need of the hour and is a necessity for schedule tribe, schedule caste and other backward classes' communities. Hakla said in order to keep them with government employees belonging to above said communities; their reservation for promotions is an essential requirement. Laying a specific stress on the matter, Shamsheer Hakla said the status of Scheduled Tribe granted to the Gujjar and Bakerwal community on April 19, 1991 by Govt. of India has completed 25 years where the Govt. has not been implementing it in letter and spirit to give full benefit of Schedule Tribe Status for the Gujjar & Bakarwal community. The Gujjar and Bakarwal community of J&K is still socially, educationally, economically and politically tagging behind and backward. |
