Nud to Janda road in shambles, Department in deep slumber

SAMBA, May 24: The dilapidated condition of road joining Nud to Janda is endangering lives taking heavy toll on the health of the commuters who continue to suffer with the administration failing to meet their demands for years. Residents of far flung villages situated along the route like Danth, Kapai, Sarian, Nullaha, Checkowan, Slater, Janda, Janda Gujran are facing lot of problems due to the poor road connectivity.
The Nud to Janda road is in this deplorable condition from last 11 years. People of this area face untold difficulties day in and day out, as the condition of road is worsening day by day.
Rainfall further worsens the conditions of already dilapidated roads. For Pedestrians, the misery is even worse.
"It is only during elections that several leader of different parties come to these remote villages and dole false assurances to the People, but once they get elected they never return to them" said, Ashok Singh, a resident of village Janda.
In case of any emergency, it take them hours to reach nearest hospital at Nud or District hospital Samba. There is no transport facility available on this bumpy road as it has been in shambles since years and concerned department has never bothered to improve its condition and give respite to the locals.
RTI was filed by one Kabal Singh a resident of village Janda seeking details about the Nud to Janda road which revealed that Rs. 3. 74 cr were sanctioned in year 2005, but only earth work was done on the road and for the past 11 years, no black topping or earth work has been done.
