Satellite phone 'signals' traced in Khour, agencies on toes | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 26: Army and police sounded alert after security agencies picked up signals of calls from a satellite phone at some villages of Khour Block including Dharh Khour and Mirpur, sources said. Sources said, "An alert has been sounded after the intelligence agencies reportedly intercepted signals of a "suspected" terrorist satellite phone near a border village in Khour of Akhnoor of Jammu region of state. "Intelligence wing of the army traced location of a satellite phone of Pakistan at Dharh, Khour and Mirpur which put all the security agencies on toes, sources added. "Meanwhile the Army and police jointly have cordoned the area where signals were traced and raised naka points to check all entry and exit points", sources said, adding that strengthened nakas were in place when last reports came in but no suspicious activity other than signal of satellite phone was reported. However, top officials of police and PRO Army remained tight lipped over the issue. |
