JDA conducts anti encroachment cum fencing drive

samba, May 26: The Jammu Development Authority while continuing the anti encroachment drive, removed the encroachment on JDA at Birpur and also started fenced the 585 kanals land of Housing Colony Birpur.
According to official spokesperson, the anti encroachment drive was taken up with the active assistance of District Administration of Samba and Senior Superintendent of Police Samba in which 50 kanals of land was removed and fencing work was taken up on the entire land.
"The Vice Chairman JDA personally supervised the anti encroachment drive while the Senior Officer of JDA, Director Land Management JDA, Superintending Engineer JDA, Chief Khilafwarzi officer JDA and other officers alongwith staff of enforcement wing carried out the drive, he added.
Meanwhile the Vice Chairman JDA directed the Superintending Engineer JDA to take up the developmental works of the colony on a fast pace so that the colony is developed within shortest possible time and made worth habitation.
It was informed that the Jammu Development Authority is developing a colony in Birpur and 730 plots have been allotted to the general public through draw of lots, out of which 236 plots are for economically weaker section of the society.
In order to remove the encroachments and to ensure ongoing works without any hindrance, a joint meeting of Deputy Commissioner Samba, Vice Chairman JDA and Senior Superintendent of Police Samba was held recently and it was decided to remove the encroachment and take stringent action as per law against the encroachers and anti social elements who were obstructing the developmental works and attempting to encroach the land of JDA. Meanwhile Vice Chairman JDA also has directed the officers of JDA to handover the possession of the plots to the allottees who have already deposited the due payment of the plots so that they could start construction of their houses.
