Jammu, May 27: The Forest Department is leaving no stone unturned to give a dent to the anti-encroachment drive of forest which was initiated by former minister, Bali Bhagat during his tenure as forest minister in Jammu region.
Reliable source in department said that the lower rung officials of the forest department have identified nearly 27 encroachers who have been encroached nearly 139 Kanals and 97 forest land in Udhampur division since many years. "Unfortunately owing to lackadaisical approach of higher officials, the forest land is not vacated from the encroachers so far", said source wishing anonymity.
They further said, "Giving dent to the anti encroachment drive, was initiated by the former Forest Minister, Bali Bhagat, the officials of the department and even the self proclaimed firebrand incumbent forest minister have been failed to vacate forest land in Udhampur after taking charge as forest minister".
The list of encroachments took place in Udhampur, in possession of Early Times reveal that Demani S/o Sukar Din has encroached 27 Kanals and 2 Marlas forest land, Anant Ram S/o Thakar Dass has encroached 12 Kanals forest land, Noor s/o Sawan encroached 7 Kanals, Ajit Singh s/o Omkar Singh has encroached 6 Kanals and 5 Marlas, Dulla S/o 4 Kanals, Shattoo S/o Kala Gujjar has encroached 4 Kanals forest land, Sardar Kartar Singh has encroached 7 Kanals, Balak Ram has encroached 4 Kanals, Panchayat Block has encroached nearly 4 Kanals.
Whereas Abdul Rashid S/o Aman Din R/o Chapper has encroached 12 Kanals, Aman Din Bakarwal has encroached 9 Kanals, Beeru S/o Aisa Bakerwal and Yaqood R/o Bain have encroached 9 Kanals, Roshan Din S/o Jalla Baggu S/o Fazal Din, Paras Ram S/o Sant Ram R/o Chapper has encroached 8 Kanals, Hotel Green Top, Patnitop has encroached 15 marls forest land, Chatto S/o Biroo has encroached 2 Kanals, Jagat Ram S/o Sukh Ram encroached 4 kanals and others. |
