PHE Daily wagers' continue with their indefinite protest, people suffer

Rajouri, May 28: Large number of ITI trained, daily wagers and Community Participation (CP)) workers who are on indefinite strike under the banners of PHE Daily Wage Employees Union (PHEDWEU) in favor of their demands for the last more than 82 days reiterated their demands during the protest held here today while people are facing the brunt as water supply have remained affected in many areas.
These employees in Rajouri district have been holding protest demonstration in favor of their demands at Rajouri, Kalakot, Sunderbani, Nowshera, Masnjakot, Thanamandi, Darhal , Kotranka and other areas in Rajouri district.
At Nowshera and Sunderbani PHE dialy Wage employees while protesting alleged that their families facing many problems including starvation because the salaries of many employees are pending for the last many months.
While condemning the approach of Minister concerned as well as State Government, Ashok Kumar, PHEDWEU leader said, "For the last more than eighty days they have been struggling for their genuine demands but no move yet has been initiated from State Government to resolve the problems of struggling employees. He said even the government has not released our salaries for the last more than 30 months.
Meantime due to continuous strike by the PHE daily wagers of many areas in the district people are facing many hardships as water supply in many areas of district got affected.
Yogesh Sharma political and social leader said that inhabitants of Upper Treru in Kalakot tehsil have even warned to block Mohgla-Kalakot road if the PHE department fails to provide them water at earliest.
"No water was supplied to our areas since the PHE daily wagers have gone on an indefinite strike," said Alam Din, sarpanch.
Surjeet Kumar, AEE, Kalakot PHE circle has assured the villages to appoint regular employee in their area for the smooth supply of drinking water.
In a bid to intensify their stir, the Provincial leaders of PHE Daily Wage Employees Union have decided to protest before the Parliament at new Delhi if the State government continues to neglect the demands of protesting employees.
