Rs. 2.09 lakh fine imposed under FSSA

UDHAMPUR, MAY 28: Additional Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Angrez Singh Rana on Friday imposed a fine of Rs.2.09 lakh on various business establishments for violating the provisions of Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
Samples of different essential commodities which included Mustard oil Brand Super Gold, Global Desi Ghee, Makhan manufactured by Mohan Food Products Satwari Jammu, Milk and Paneer were found to be substandard and Mango drink (Brand Maza), Biscuit (Brand Britania ) were reported as misbranded.
Earlier, during the routine market checking the samples of various food items were lifted by the Food safety officer and sent to Public Health laboratory Jammu for analysis and the reports of the food analyst conformed that these samples were misbranded and substandard.
The challans against the defaulting shopkeepers were produced by the FSO before the court of Adjudicating Officer (ADC).
