SRINAGAR, May 28: Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD), Chodhary Zulfkar Ali today directed all the Deputy Commissioners to ensure that the ration for the coming month is distributed in next ten days.

Zulfkar said that there is no reason why people should not get their due share in advance if there is sufficient stock lying in stores. "People should be given advance ration for the coming months of June and July in next ten days," directed the Minister.
He asked the DCs to submit the accuracy certificate to the Department by coming Wednesdayadding that the certificates should be issued on the basis of factual report submitted by the committee members.
The Minister said the job of issuing accuracy certificates was given to DCs to ensure that government gets a full proof data without any discrepancies, so that future policies could be formulated accordingly.
Taking a strong note of reports about uneven distribution of ration at certain places, the Minister warned strict action against those found violating Act.
He also directed the DCs to start the distribution process of the ration cards in their districts under the supervision of respective Tehsildars and if possible the local MLA should also be invited during distribution function. Speaking during the meeting, Syed Basharat Bukhari directed the DCs to fix the responsibility if someone is trying to dodge them and take action against the person.
The Minister also asked the DCs to adopt a proactive approach to ensure that people are satisfied with the distribution process.
