'Nutritive diet' distribution begins at ICDS Mendhar, but a 'foul play' alleged

Poonch, May 28: The distribution of nutritive diet to Anaganwari Centres has begun formally at ICDS Mendhar which earlier was snapped due to complaints against its in-charge for mal-practices sources said here today.
"The distribution of nutritive diet has been started at ICDS Mendhar from May 25 but it was alleged that the distribution process was made in presence of blue eyed committee members to Anganwari helpers while as per directions the material is subjected to be distributed to Anganwari workers in presence of 'supervisory team' constituted for the same, the sources alleged.
Sources also added Incharge Nutrition ICDS Mendhar, Mushtaq Ahmed who allegedly was involved in corrupt practices has been transferred to Balakote Centre on the directions of DDC Poonch MH Malik but he still has managed to stay at his posting.
The official sources said several complaints against the tainted official were received at the office of DDC and taking cognizance of the issue on May 25 the DDC passed direction to his P/O to remove the said official from ICDS Mendhar as Incharge Nutrtion and shift him to ICDS Centre Balakote till further orders. "DDC Poonch also has asked District Programme Officers Manzoor Ahmed and CDPO Parveen Chowdhary as how a person was made incharge Nutrition when there were many complaints against him especially when he was allegedly involved in 75 quintals Daliya Scam in past, sources added.
Sources said despite transfer orders to tainted official to Balakote he was still incharge nutrition at ICDS Mendhar reflects his influence and clout which was sheer is violation of service rules.
Meanwhile the people alleged that when there was zero performance of many Anganwari centres in the district why government yet is supplying material to these centres were defunct in district without any check. They said mostly the Anganwari centres and incharges are allegedly having hand in glove while the beneficiaries remain empty handed. District Development Commissioner Poonch MH Malik told Early Times that the said tainted official alleged of being involved in malpractices has been ordered to join at Balakote. He said further action warranted by law will be initiated against him after charges against him were ascertained during departmental probe.
