Jammu, May 28: Gone are the days, when people used to chant plebiscite and other things, now, it is the new generation and new age, where young people want job opportunities and are career oriented. The new generation of the state is fully tuned to achieve new heights in their own chosen career.
Talking to Early Times correspondent, Hilal Ahmed a businessman from Srinagar, said, that new generation want job opportunity and are career oriented. They are least interested in plebiscite etc.
He further said that UN resolution in this regard has totally exhausted its value and sanctity with the passage of time even the status is irrelevant after Shimla Agreement of 1972 made between Prime Ministers of India and Pakistan. He further said that the bilateral solution is the only solution and added the new generation wants full opportunity in Job hunt.
Zeenat-un-nisa, a private school teacher, said that plebiscite is an obsolete now and has no relevance though hurriyat and co had interest in raising this slogan for their own survival. She further added, the young generation of state is more interested in jobs, career etc. For example Shah Faisal topped in IAS and Athar Ameer from Anantnag who topped second in all India level and many more. Young generation of J&K belonging to its all regions have undergone tremendous, emotional and psychological change in their thinking and style of living. They can decide their own future leaving behind all the bitter and unpleasant aspects like plebiscite, freedom slogans etc.
Asif Khan, running a medical shop in outskirts of Srinagar, said that daily Hartals, have halted their business and are facing difficulty in earning livelihood. He further said we are living in the Scientific age well equipped with all types of facilities and talking of plebiscite appears strangely obsolete and irrelevant.
Recent trend is seen among new generation particularly from Kashmir, towards making their place in IAS & KAS and other fields of earning their livelihood with dignity for themselves providing ample employment to other falling in lower strata of society.
Though the inclination towards career is making in roads slowly and steady, but young generation is independent to choose their way of earning livelihood.
