Weather remains pleasant, rains lash Kashmir late evening | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, May 29: Weather remained pleasant though the mercury was above normal in the Kashmir valley, including summer capital, Srinagar, where fresh rains occurred this evening. A Met department spokesman said here this evening that weather will remain wet in the Kashmir valley and Jammu region during the next 48 hours. However, weather will remain dry in Ladakh region during the next two days, he added. Despite recording 29 degrees Celsuis maximum temperature, three notches above normal in Srinagar, weather remained pleasant. However, weather turned more pleasant in the evening after fresh rain. Mughal gardens on the bank of world famous Dal Lake remained flooded with tourists and locals. Tourists, mostly from plain state where the heat wave continued, could be seen taking shikara rides in the Lake. The minimum temperature in the city was near normal at 12 degrees, he said, adding there could be light rain or thundershowers and the maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 26 degrees and 14 degrees respectively during the next 24 hours. World famous ski resort of Gulmarg, health resort of Pahalgam, Kokernag and Qazigund recorded two to three degree below normal maximum temperature while the minimum temperature was near normal. |
