A single water reservoir caters the need of about 2 lakh souls in Mendhar where as nearly one hundred water tanks were dried up as PHE department has failed to make various water supply schemes functional despite working on them for the last many years and the payment against several schemes was withdrawn but people still face the scarcity of drinking water facility sources said, 25 Waters supply schemes were defunct totally in the area, they added.
Locals alleged that the work on several WSS was going on but not a single scheme was completed for reasons best known to concerned authorities.
Somewhere there was shortage of pump sets and some where power generator problem, they further stated.
