jammu, May 30: The Vigilance Organization Jammu has formally begun probe into alleged irregularities and malfunctioning in the Citizen's Cooperative Bank during the two successive tenures of Chairman . A young Police officer of the rank of Inspector, who is well known for his integrity, honesty and professional skills, has been appointed as Inquiry Officer to investigate into the complaints against Chairman. Even as the Vigilance team has not yet formally summoned Chairman and others, who are accused of malfunctioning and mismanagement of the public money, sources said that the questioners are being prepared to grill those involved in the acts of omissions and commissions. This questioner is based on the numerous written complaints against the CCBL management, particularly its Chairman, sources added. Besides, sources further said, the Vigilance Organization has also received some fresh verbal complaints against him and the investigating team is understood to probe these charges also along with written complaints.
As already reported by this paper, the State Government had last month asked the Vigilance Organization to conduct an in-depth inquiry into allegations of malfunctioning and mismanagement of public money by Chairman during his two consecutive terms as Chairman of the Citizens Cooperative Bank Ltd Jammu, from 2007-2010 and 2012 till date. Besides issuing direction for the Vigilance inquiry, the Government has also asked the Registrar Cooperative Societies J&K, Jammu to get in touch with the Vigilance Organization and furnish the progress of the case time to time.
