BJP ministers ignore loyal party workers

Early Times Report

JAMMU, May 30: How a common man can expect Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Achay Din'' in Jammu when BJP, after coming to power, has 'forgotten' and 'ignored' its loyal workers who are associated with it from the days of Praja Parishad and Prem Nath Dogra.
A large number of people, inspired by Prem Nath Dogra who is also known as Sher-e-Duggar, had joined Praja Parishad to strengthen nationalist movement in the state under his leadership.
These people never expected anything for themselves but their sole motive was to strengthen national cause in the state and silence the voice of the forces who wanted to maintain separate identity of J&K. These people were so inclined to Praja Parishad, which later converted into Bharatiya Jana Sangh and now BJP, that they even sacrificed their everything for the national cause and did not demand anything in return for themselves or their families. The only motto of their lives was to serve the national cause. Some of these leaders passed away over these years while some laid down their lives during the Movement while others continued their struggle for national cause selflessly.
These selfless activists never claimed to be in the race of becoming top leaders but continued to serve the party as well as the nation like humble and patriotic citizens of the country.
One such activist of the party is Subash Gupta who remained associated with BJP since Praja Parishad days and never claimed to be its front ranking leader and always considered it his pleasure to serve the party and people as a humble human being. Even he was not considered fit for the mandate during corporation elections in 2003 or any other post, he, without caring for the same, continued to serve the party with dedication and loyalty.
Some time back Subash met with an accident in Jammu and was admitted in a private nursing home in the city for treatment. But he developed multiple problems with his blood sugar and BP level increasing. The doctors in the private nursing home suggested him to be taken to GMC's Col Chopra Nursing Home for treatment where besides the orthopedic surgeons, Endocrinologist, Cardiologists as well as physicians can also be available for check up.
However, his family members contacted the concerned minster, pleading for some concession in fee at the Col Chopra Nursing Home as they were not in a position to bear the expenses. The minster, instead of coming to rescue of the family and a loyal party activist, outrightly rejected their plea, saying that he couldn't do any thing. The minister even did not bother to see the senior party activist.
This is how BJP ministers are behaving with their own party men who sweated over these years to bring the party to power both at the Centre and in the state, but the party, after coming to power, has totally turned a back towards these loyal activists.
This has been a cause of growing resentment among BJP cadres against the party leadership.
Sources said when some local party activists brought the matter to the notice of a BJP national vice-president, he regretted the action of the minister and himself visited the residence of BJP activist to encourage the family.
