Early Times Report
Poonch, May 31: Lambasting over ruling party leaders for their failure to utter a single word over the worrisome situation arising after wind storm in Rajouri and Poonch, National Conference here has called for immediate help to the affected people and to restore power supply on war footings.
In a press statement issued here, Youth National Conference Provincial President Ajaz Jan has said that wind storm that hit Rajouri and Poonch districts on Sunday evening has triggered losses of property especially in Mandi and Surankote belts of Poonch.
" Several structures got damaged and some houses severely blown in the windstorm " Jan said adding that its highly unfortunate that government administration is still to pay concern to the situation.
" Not even a single team has been sent in the field by administration to access the losses which shows careless approach of administration " he added.
Jan further stated that authorities have failed to restore power supply in several villages even after three days of storm which depicts the careless approach of concerned departments.
" Power is a basic need of the present era and there is need to restore snapped power supply on war footings " Jan said.
While lambasting over present regime, he said that proceedings of both the houses are going on and government as well as leaders of ruling parties are yet to utter a single word on the worrisome situation arising after windstorm.
" A same kind of storm hit the area in 2012-13 after which than Chief Minister Omar Abdullah took immediate steps and teams were constituted to access the damage " Jan said adding that teams submitted their reports and government took steps for rehabilitation of affected people but this government is hardly moved to the situation.
" There is need to provide immediate help to the affected families " he added.
