Alleging medico negligence family stage protest, probe ordered | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 31: Family member and relatives of a woman patient staged a protest by blocking Shalamar road for more than an hour after doctor forced her early delivery which causes the birth of handicapped child. Meanwhile Directorate Health Services has ordered a probe in this regard. As per reports, this woman named Rukhsana was 9 months pregnant and she was admitted to Government Hospital, Sarwal for her delivery in the morning of 28th of May. During the treatment a lady doctor named Dr Anu order her junior to deliver the baby which resulted in the birth of a baby girl with broken limbs. "The forced delivery of the woman caused injuries to the baby, protestors alleged. However, the doctors at Government Hospital, Sarwal denied the treatment of the baby after which she was brought to SMGS Hospital. A protesting kin of the parents also complaint that the baby girl was admitted immediately to SMGS Hospital but the doctors did not attend her and wasted time in paper work which deteriorated her condition. Meanwhile, taking cognizance in this regard the Directorate Health Department Jammu today ordered a probe in this incident and constituted a probe committee comprising of a Gynecologist, an Orthopedic and a Pediatric expert. The committee was asked to submit its report within three days. Director Health Services Jammu Dr B S Pathania today said that the department has ordered a probe through a three member committee after a protest demonstration by the family member and relatives of a woman patient was staged at Shalamar road today. |
