Kishtwar June 24: Police have arrested three bootleggers and recovered 196 pouches of illicit liquor from their possession. Acting on a tip off, a police party from Police Station, Dachhan, laid a naka at Swarbati on Palmar-Dachhan route and intercepted one Bilal Ahmed, son of Abdul Gani Chopan of Kripakhnoo Dachhan. During his search, police recovered 105 pouches of illicit liquor concealed by him in three boxes. In another incident, 91 poly pouches of illicit liquor measuring 250 ml each were recovered from the possession of Ashiq Hussain, son of Mohammad Sheikh of Sarkoot, Kishtwar, and Fareed Ahmed, son of Abdul Rashid of Hidyal. Cases in this connection were registered at concered police stations under section 48 of Excise Act. |
