Jammu, June 25 : Five thieves of UP and Bihar, who used to operate on the Katra-Vaishno Devi Bhavan track, have been apprehended by police. They were identified as G L Waris, son of Zaffar Babs Waris of Manlawa, UP, Saanu, son of Usman of Kandel Ganj in Kanpur, UP, Mohammad Sartaz, son of Raju of Kangi Mohal in Kanpur, UP, Gajinder Rai, son of Bangdeshwari of Bhimpur, Bihar, and Raj Kumar, son of Arun Singh of Sewan, Bihar. A police spokesman said all of them were captured on a specific information jointly by Bhawan and Katra police stations. Some of them were also expert pickpockets. Eight cellphones and some coins of Mata Vaishno Devi were recovered from them at the time of their arrest. They also used to steal the belongings of pilgrims. They had their hideout at Seemapuri in New Delhi, the spokesman said and added that their other associates had also been identified. They used to come here via train and then return to Delhi after making thefts. Their sustained interrogation was in progress.
