Rajouri June 25: Security forces in a joint operation recovered a haul of arms and ammunition from general forest of Kalakote of Rajouri district here today Police sources said, "Rajouri police in collaboration with Kalakot based 63 RR have recovered a rusted Pika gun and 285 rounds of AK rifle from a forest in Kalakot tehsil in Rajouri district today." "Based on specific input, joint search team under the supervision of Atul Sharma, ASP Rajoiri and RR troops launched a joint search operation in Phali forest in Jata Mal general area under the jurisdiction of Kalakot Police Station, police said. "After hectic search in rugged terrain, security forces busted the hideout at about 6.30 pm today and recovered the consignment wrapped in a polythene sheet, police said.
"The PIKA gun and the rounds were rusted and it seems to be dumped by the militant commanders operating in the area before 2002, police said.
Police have registered a case against the unidentified persons in this matter. |
