JKEPFO violates its own directives | 10 employees engaged in 2015, denied PF benefits | | G S Asgotra Early Times Report jammu, Jun 25: It may sound bizarre but it is true that 10 employees engaged by J&K Employees Provident Fund Organisation (JKEPFO) in January, 2015 as data operators were still not covered under provident fund scheme. Source in JKEPFO said that in January, 2015, 10 data operators were hired by the organisation after conducting their interviews but even after a lapse of 18 months, they had not been covered under the provident scheme which showed its indifferent attitude of towards its own employees. "On one hand, JKEPFO has directed private employers, who have engaged more than 10 employees, to cover them under this scheme but on the other, it is found violating its own directives," alleged an employee of the organization. Sources said initially all of them were engaged at Regional Office, Railway Road, Jammu, on contractual basis and clearly told by the officials concerned that they would never be transferred from this office. Despite that, four of them had been transferred to district office, Samba, sources claimed. "No doubt, we are working as contractual employees but we should at least have been covered under this scheme as per the set norms envisaged in the provident," said an employee. He said JKEPFO had been depositing their salaries in the account of DOEACC, Jammu, instead of their individual accounts. Even as DOEACC had asked JKEPFO to deposit their salaries in their individual accounts, the latter was yet to take a decision in this regard. |
