Early Times Report JAMMU, June 25: A DIG, who is termed in state police circles as PHQ's blue-eyed boy, is scheduled to leave for a foreign assignment for the second time in the last one year from next week. On PHQ's recommendation, the state home department has given permission to the DIG to leave for foreign assignment as per its order No 353. Though there was no dearth of senior officers in the police department, the PHQ had given approval to his name for the second time in the last one year, thereby depriving others of the opportunity. "There is a strong resentment among other officers in this regard, but no one raises his voice due to the fact that PHQ will get annoyed with them," police sources said. He would remain abroad from June 27 to July 5 next and during these days, the charge of his post would remain with DIG (CKR) Ghulam Hassan Bhat, sources said, adding that the additional charge would remain with him till the officer returned from his foreign assignment. Bhat would now be holding two additional charges. He already had the additional charge of DIG, traffic police, with him, sources said. The 'influential' DIG holds an important police range in Kashmir. |
