Poonch, June 26: Officials of food organisation and legal metrology department today conducted a surprise market check in Mendhar town and booked the traders who were found selling essential commodities on exorbitant rates.
Official sources said the joint team, which was accompanied by Mendhar tehsildar, SDPO and SHO, booked the traders who were allegedly selling vegetables, edibles and other grocery items on exorbitant rates. Meanwhile, some traders alleged that the team did not touch influentials and resorted to pick and choose method while booking the small shopkeepers and vendors. They termed the market check as a mere eye wash and alleged that the hoarders and black marketeers were not rouched by the officials. |
