JAMMU, June 27: Shaheen Football Club won the Ist Summer Gold Cup Football Tournament, organised by Sainik Colony Football Club involving 18 team representing local clubs here today. In the final, Shaheen defeated JKPS Football Club by a solitary goal. The only goal of the match came through Ravi Rana in the last minutes of the game. Earlier, JKPS FC missed the golden chance of levelling the score by missing the penalty. The penalty was awarded after Shaheen's start striker Ravi Rana handed the ball inside the striking area.
Ankit Gupta of Sahneen was adjudged best striker while Sourab Rajput named best defender. Abhimanyu Sharma of the same Club was adjudged best goal-keeper of the tournament.
The winning team was awarded with Rs 10,000 cash prize and title trophy while the runners JKPS FC got Rs 5,000 prize money. |
