JAMMU, June 27: An officer of SP rank, who is holding an important post at PHQ, is alleged to be helping his nears and dears to get good postings. In state police circles, he is even accused of ignoring those who do not belong to his lobby or who are not acquainted with him.
"Since his posting at PHQ, he has been helping only his nears and dears and those whose cases are supported by the recommendations of seniors and others who matter for him.
He outrightly rejects the files of officers, who are less important for him, and doesn't even bother to put them to seniors, but he never creates hurdles in the works of his relatives and acquaintances," police sources said. Sources alleged that using his influence, he had in the recent past got his relative transferred to traffic wing of police and then got him posted at an important place on the national highway.
"The place is so important that dozens of traffic police officers wait for months together to get posted there," sources said.
In violation of police norms, he was alleged to have managed a posting for his another relative, who is a Sub-Inspector in armed police. "While armed police officers are not posted at thanas and police posts, he got the armed police SI posted as incharge of a police in Rajouri district," sources alleged.
