Early Times Report Jammu, June 27: High Court judge Tashi Rabstan today directed the senior AAG appearing for State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) to file the latest status of the inquiry into Rs 27 cr bunglings in J&K Housing Board by or before the next date of hearing, ie July 11, 2016. When the case came up for hearing, the petitioner's counsel drew the court attention to the status report filed by SVO wherein he had divulged that the matter of Rs 27 cr bunglings was under inquiry with the government. He said a reminder was also sent to the housing department on May 19, 2016 but the factual report was awaited. He submitted that HUDD secretary had also filed a status report, stating that the inquiry committee had finally submitted its report to HUDD. He sought appropriate directions to the SVO to proceed further in the matter and submitted that the allegations levelled by the petitioner had been substantiated by the three-member inquiry committee which was constituted on July 14, 2015 by Bipul Pathak, then HUDD secretary. He sad the inquiry committee report had established that the board had executed works beyond its jurisdiction. After hearing him, Justice Rabstan observed that since inquiry report had been filed by the committee in the PIL, SVO could not sit over it. After hearing the two sides, he directed the senior AAG appearing for SVO to file the latest status of the inquiry by or before the next date of hearing. |
