Early Times Report Srinagar, June 28: As many as 13893 government schools in Jammu and Kashmir sans the boundary walls, the government in its written reply informed the Upper House on Tuesday. This was revealed in a written reply of the government to a query raised by MLC regarding the number of schools without boundary walls in the state. About the planning of government regarding execution of works pertaining to the boundary walls the government said the walls will be constructed subject to the availability of the funds. "The walls will be constructed first in girls' schools followed by Primary and middle schools," reads the written reply. The government reply stated that around 36.04 kanals of land of Government schools has been encroached while as in Jammu division land of Government Primary School (GPS) Rajpura in Zone Marh has been encroached. "In case of encroachment in Jammu region, the matter is sub-judice," reads the written reply. About the steps taken for vacation of encroached land, the government reply states that the matter was being taken up with Revenue authorities. |
