JAMMU, June 28: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra in its continuous pursuit to achieve excellence in Academics and Research is making its presence felt fast nationally and internationally off-late. This time, it's the turn of its prestigious component i.e. Department of Architecture and Landscape Design. Ar. Anoop Sharma- Asst. Professor of the department presented his co-authored proposal about the 'Sustainability Guide to the Contemporary Housing of Indian Cities' with special reference to city like Jammu at the International Conference of Civil, Architecture and Environment Engineering held at Bangkok-Thailand on June 23 and 24. The research proposal was augmented with case studies, problems like policy making and its implementation at ground level, context of different cities with respect to ecology, Planning Architecture and History diversity, population burden on urban areas (cities) etc. Simultaneously, comprehensive solution was suggested by him in the form of a model. Ar. Anoop also emphasized upon the lessons to be learnt from the housing (real estate) failures and stagnancy of the same in some of the leading towns of India. The conference was organized by Universal researchers, UAE and number of academicians, researchers belonging to different countries across the globe presented their proposals in different parallel sessions. |
