GDC Doda observes International day against Drugs abuse, illicit trafficking | | | Early Times Report
DODA, June 28: The International day against Drugs abuse and illicit trafficking was observed at Government Degree College (GDC) Doda. On the occasion, principal of the College Dr RK Raina was the chief guest. The observation of the international day was accompanied by the symposium competition on the theme 'Message of hope: Drug disorder preventable and treatable' which was attended by the students and the teachers of the college. The programme was organized by the Cultural Committee of GDC Doda in collaboration with the Red Ribbon Club and NSS unit of the College. The programme began with the welcome address by Dr Ajaz Ahmed Wani, HOD Zoology who threw light on the need of curbing the menace of Drug abuse. 11 students of GDC Doda participated in the symposium competition in which Mubashir Shafi, Kousar and Shabnam bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize respectively. The consolation prize was given to Afshan Zareen. Speaking on the occasion, Principal of the college Dr Raina impressed upon the students to concentrate on their studies and abstain from any bad habits. He said indulging in such illegal activities will not only harm their health but also affect their future. |
