katra, June 28: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi (SMVD) Nursing College is going to start first session from July this year and the registration for the admission begins from today. According to press release, the college was adjacent to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super Specialty Hospital which was established by Shrine Board, managed by an experienced Principal and members of her staff. As earlier decided by the Governing Body of the College of Nursing, there would be only 60 girl students in the first batch (2016-17). Consequent to appropriate publicity in the matter, the College received applications from 224 candidates for admission to the first year of the four years B. Sc. Nursing Course. On the completion of the selection process based on the merit of the applicant in the 10+2 examination (90% weight age) and aptitude assessment/interview (10% weight age) 60 meritorious girls have been selected for admission and an appropriate number kept on the wait list. The admission list and other important matters were finalized by the Governing body of the College of Nursing which met yesterday, chaired by Majar General (Retd) S K Sharma, Member Shrine Board, and attended by Dr V Verma Dean, SMVDU; A K Sahu, CEO Shrine Board, Dr (Brig) M M Harjai, Administrator and Dr Shailla Cannie, Principal of the College. |
