Locals block Poonch road for harassing bus driver

jammu, June 28: Locals of Poonch and mini bus drivers' fraternity today staged a protest demonstration and blocked the vehicular traffic for few hours to protest against the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) who allegedly had harassed a bus driver.
According to reports, the ARTO Poonch to check violation of traffic norms today has raised a naka near ARTO Office Poonch and intercepted bus being driven by Irshad a resident of Kankote for checking documents.
Protestors alleged that Irashad possessed all the documents and had deposited fee for up-gradation of his Passenger Service Vehicle (PSV) license to heavy license and his license is also being deposited in the office of ARTO office.
"Despite being made aware to the ARTO Poonch, Mohd Jahagir that his PSV license is being deposited in the office ARTO for upgrading it to Heavy, the Inspector of ARTO office challaned Irshad", alleged protestors.
Later, in-charge Station House Officer (SHO) Poonch SI ALtaf Hussain rushed to the spot and pacified protestors who later lifted protest.
