Akhand Jyoti Committee Ramnagar conducts 'Drug De-addiction' drive

Ramnagar, June 28: To create awareness among the younger generations about the ill effects of drugs, a 'Say No to Drugs" rally was organized here today by Akhand Jyoti Committee Ramnagar in which large number youth and eminent citizens from all the walks of life participated.
The rally was flagged off by Anshul Garg (IAS) Sub-Divisional Magisterate (SDM) Ramnagar in the presence of Deepak Digra , Sub-Divisional Police Officer Ramnagar and Rajesh Gupta Block Medical Officer Ramnagar.
A large number of youths on two-wheelers particularly wearing helmets participated in the rally to give message of Drug-de-addiction and also safe driving to the society.
Speaking on the occasion, special invitee Anshul Garg lauded the efforts of the committee for launching this campaign. He said these drugs are affecting the vitals of our society and our young generation is being put in to dark by those involved in this illegal activity of drugs.
BMO. Dr Rajesh Gupta also spoke on a length about the ill effects these drugs have on the human body and citing examples of various ill effects added that intake of these drugs weakens the immune system and ultimately results in the untimely death.
In his address SDPO, Deepak Digra called for a collective effort from all the stakeholders to put an end to this evil which is fast propelling in the society. He also underlined that there is a direct correlation between the crimes and the drugs and thus increasing drug menace always results in more crimes.
Vinay Jandial Organiser Akhand Jyoti Committee speaking on the occasion expressed his gratitude to Civil Society, administration and Members of the committee for making this program a success. He also informed a Half-Marathon on this issue is being planned and sought further cooperation from Administration and civil society in this regard.
Prominent others present on the occasion were Urfan Parvez SHO, Ramnagar, Sanjeev Jandial, Manoj Kumar, Pappu Verma, Pankaj Saraf and Rakesh Gupta (Ex-Councilor).
