Jammu, June 29:Eight persons, including a diesel tanker driver, were injured in different road accidents here today. Police sources said a tanker (JK02R/5727), loaded with diesel, was on way to Srinagar when its driver lost control over it and it fell into a 300 ft deep gorge at Chanderkote, Ramban, resulting in injuries to its driver. The injured driver Amrik Singh, son of Kehar Singh of Gole Pulli, Talab Tillo, was shifted to district hospital, Ramban, wherefrom he was referred to GMCH here for further treatment. SHO of Chanderkote police station, Inspector Daljeet Singh said the rescue operation was carried out by CRPF personnel of 84 Bn. A case under sections 279 and 337 of RPC was registered in this regard at Chanderkote police station for further investigation. Meanwhile, seven Vaishno Devi pilgrims were injured in a bus-taxi collision in Katra town of Reasi. The injured were admitted to Katra hospital. They included Meena Soni, wife of Sawara Soni, Sapna Soni, wife of Mahesh Soni, Riya Soni, daughter of Sawara Soni, Chanda Soni, wife of Lalit Soni, Chander Kanta, wife of Rajinder Soni, Khushboo Soni, wife of Parveen Soni and Sawaria, son of Radha Shyam Soni, all residents of Jaipur, and Kanta Devi, wife of Om Parkash of Kadmal, Katra. Sapna and Chanda Soni were later referred to the GMCH here. Police have registered a case in this regard.
