Early Times Report
Srinagar, June 29: Appealing Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to order a probe into the mysterious death of their daughter at her matrimonial home last month, the relatives of Saika Shafi a teacher by profession claimed that she was murdered by her in-laws for being infertile.
"She was a cheerful lady who was always smiling and made others smile; we cannot buy the suicide theory of her in-laws who murdered her in a cold blood. Her husband is a characterless person having extramarital affairs with a young girl," Kehkashan younger sister of Saika said.
She appealed the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti to personally intervene in the matter and order a probe to ascertain the actual cause of death, being woman and a mother Mehbooba Ji has to play a role so that no Saika will die such a horrible death in future," she said with tears trickling down her eyes.
Pertinently, Saika Shafi Wanchoo wife of Sheikh Sajid Hamid 40 a teacher by profession was found dead at her matrimonial home at Rajbagh last month.
"My sister was childless which I think must be the reason for her death. Her husband Sheikh Sajid Hamid who is an Executive Engineer in SKUAST Shalimar only informed us when the body was already under police custody,'' said Kehkashan.
She claimed that even the doctor who performed the autopsy of Saika was corrupt who has been giving misleading medical reports to save culprits.
"She (Saika) talked to her mother and other family members at her parental home half an hour before her death, we were crestfallen the moment we received a call from her husband who informed us that she is dead,'' she added.
She claimed that her in-laws especially her younger sister in-law Rozina has been harassing her from the day one of her marriage.
"Actually this was arranged love marriage, her younger sister in-law who is a teacher at Burn Hall School has never accepted this relation, she was always saying that this is an unwanted relation, marriage performed in 2000 however my sister could not gave birth to child, this was her only fault," said Kehkasahn.
She claimed that even doctors claimed that this was clear case of poisoning, however the misleading reports of the doctor played spoilsport.
"I have a voice recording of doctors in which they have claimed that she has been poisoned, there were injury marks on her body besides she was frothing," she said.
