Early Times Report Jammu, June 29: The special investigation team (SIT) of police today presented challan in the court of law against the accused in Aap Shambhu temple desecration case. The challan was presented in the court of principal sessions judge, Jammu, Sanjay Gupta by the SIT incharge against accused Yasir Alfaz, son of Kher Din of Shiva, Doda, who was arrested and booked by Janipur police under sections 295, 295-A, 353 and 506 of RPC. The accused had entered the Aap Shambhu temple at Roop Nagar at about 5 pm, pelted stones, damaged windscreens of the temple and indulged in sacrilegious acts. The challan was presented in the court of principal sessions judge, Jammu, because the offences are special offences which are triable by the session court only. After hearing the CPO, the judge transferred the challan to the court of 1st additional sessions judge, Jammu, who sent the accused to Kot-Bhalwal jail and fixed July 22 next for arguments. Meanwhile, the 1st additional sessions judge also granted 10 days judicial remand of Gurbachan Singh who was involved in the Nanak Nagar Shiv Mandir desecration case. |
