Jammu, June 30: Panch Welfare Association has expressed satisfaction for presenting Panchayati Raj Amendment bill in the State Assembly wherein it has been mentioned that Sarpanches will not be elected but they will be nominated by the panches elected for particular panchayat Halqa. A meeting of Panch Welfare Association was held here today at Bain Bajalta under the Chairmanship of R C Sharma, president of the Association. The participants also expressed their gratitude to the minister and the government for making the amendments. RC Sharma while addressing the participants said that by nominating sarpanch amongst the elected panches will prove beneficial for both developmental process and mitigating the sufferings of the general masses as there shall be no partiality. He further said that an eligible elected panch will be nominated by the elected panches of respective Panchayat Halqa as such developmental schemes will be carried out in all wards of the halqa. Prominent who were present in the meeting were Fareed Ahmed, Jamat Ali, Vaishno Devi, Seeta Devi, Sushma Sharifa begum, Subash Sumoeria, Vikra Alam, Abdul Hamid and others. |
