Migrant employees in Valley under panic, displaced youth demand release of selection list
7/10/2016 11:09:32 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 10: While deep sense of insecurity is prevailing amongst the migrant employees appointed under PM package who are residing in various camps at Hall, Vessu and Mattan in South Kashmir districts of Anantnag and Pulwama following attacks by violent mobs on their residential localities during last three days, a group of Kashmiri Pandit youth who had appeared for interviews under PM package in 2014 have staged a protest demonstration here today demanding immediate release of the list of the selected candidates.
The protestors raising slogans against the State Government and the concerned authorities of SSRB for delaying the list demanded release of the selection list. These protests by the unemployed KP youth are taking place at a time when their fellow community men appointed under PM package during 2010 putting up in various camps in Kashmir are being targeted by irate mobs. These hapless employees have made umpteen pleas to the authorities as well as the Central government to come to their rescue and provide adequate security to them or shift them to safer places.
The migrants at Haal say that they feel totally insecured as a mob tried to attack the camp number of times during last two days. There is total panic in the camp at Haal as well as Mattan and Vessu and the employees putting up there seek proper security. Even the Government has been in fix as the security of these employees has become a cause of concern for it too and the State Cabinet which held an emergency meeting even has taken up this issue as well.
Sources said blaming government for security of the displaced youth who visited Valley to join the duties as well as their parents are themselves to blame for the same as they neither cared for community opinion nor anything else while joining the services in Valley. Even the girls outnumbered men in selection list and parents took pride in sending them to Kashmir where from they migrated in 1989-90 as the safety and security of these girls and other women folk was the main cause of concern for them.
These migrant youth and their parents also proved the community wrong which refused to return saying that the ground situation in Kashmir was not conducive for the same. But on the exploitation of oneself styled leader and his few supporters in some KP organizations at Jammu and Delhi who orchestrated this whole plan just for their vested interests. Now the leaders of these so called organizations also cry for the security of the displaced employees putting up in Valley camps though they are answerable to the entire community for their role in misleading the youth to join the government services in Kashmir where from the entire community was thrown out and which was fighting for their separate place in Valley.
