Jammu, July 22: Two days long orientation training course for Anganwari Workers today concluded, organized by Community food and nutrition extension unit, Jammu at Gagwal. Resource persons included officers and officials from Accidental Hospital Ghagwal, Samba, J&K led by Dr Arun Sharma Incharge AH Ghagwal. Dr Sandeep Raina Incharge MO AH Ghagwal and Ravinder Singh Health Educator AH Ghagwal also educated the Anganwari Workers. The topics were mainly focused on Malnutrition - Causes and consequences of Malnutrition in children, diet and care of infant and young child and diet of malnourished child; Significance of early initiation of breast feeding, exclusive breast feeding for first six months, extended breast feeding for two years and beyond and timely complementary feeding; low birth weight; nutrition of adolescent girls, pregnant and nursing mothers. Anaemia causes, consequences symptoms and its prevention. |
