| Delay in Aadhaar cards, e-ration cards putting Rajouri consumers in all troubles | | | Early Time Report
Rajouri, July 22: In many parts of Rajouri districts people have been complaining about unnecessary delay in issuing of their Aadhaar cards & e-ration cards and alleged that in the absence of Aadhaar card they are facing difficulties in getting their LPG subsidy. Union Government has provided two options for the LPG subscribers to avail the LPG subsidy.
LPG consumer can receive LPG subsidy in his/her bank account by linking Aadhaar card to bank account number and to the LPG consumer number.
Under second option (if the consumer has no Aadhaar card) the consumer can get subsidy by providing his/her bank account name /number IFSC code to the LPG distributor for capture in LPG database and present LPG consumer information (17 digits) to his/her band authorities.
"While in other parts of the state the government has provided Aadhaar cards and e-ration cards, in Rajouri district many areas still not covered under this scheme and besides LPG subsidy Aadhaar card has been made compulsory for many other benefits" said Naresh Kumar resident of Nowshera.
Inhabitants of Nowshera and other parts of the tehsil recently had held protest demanding making of Aadhaar cards & e-ration cards.
Despite tall claims by the CA&PD minister that before the end of April all the corrections will be made before issuing e-ration cards , the beneficiaries under National Food Security Act (NFSA) still waiting for the issuance of e-ration cards. Despite assurances by the minister, people in many areas in Rajouri district still complaining about many irregularities committed by the patwaris & other government officials responsible for preparing the lists of beneficiaries under NFSA.
Not only this, to get benefit under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojna (PMUY) for free LPG connection many above poverty line (APL) women have managed to get their names registered in BPL ration card lists in nexus with CA&PD/revenue officials.
Shokat Ali and Mohd Sadiq and many other resident of Kotranka and other areas have alleged that the concerned officials have committed many irregularities while preparing the BPL lists.
"Many families which were getting ration under BPL category since a long time have been deleted from the list. Only three families were shown under BPL category. Many names are missing while many rich families have been figured in the list of Below Poverty Line (BPL) beneficiaries" said Shokat Ali.
On July 8 Zulfkar Ali Minister for CA&PD while taking comprehensive review of the progress registered in distribution of ration cards, stock position, supply of essentials and has fixed July 31 as the deadline for distribution of error free ration cards and e- tickets to the consumers of Rajouri and Poonch.
He also promised to open new Fair Price shops in frontier districts of Rajouri & Poonch so that the people may not suffer any more in getting the ration easily.
People here at Rajouri have criticized the state government for not entering the names of the children in the ration cards which are below five years.
Yogesh Sharma prominent social /political leader and sarpanch has appealed to the government to add the names of the children below five years in the ration cards.
He also resented the delay in making the Aadhaar cards and appealed to the authorities to restart the process immediately so that the people may not suffer in getting their LPG. |
