| School Education Department flouting MDMS guidelines | | | Early Time Report
Rajouri, July 22: The department for School Education has come under the scanner once again, as revealed through an RTI filed with the department by an advocate and RTI activist of the district as the reply revealed that a Mid Day Meal account has been opened on the name of individuals.
According to an RTI filed by an RTI activist Rajesh Sharma advocate cum General Secretary Bar Association Rajouri on 20/2/2015 to Chief Education Officer (CEO) Rajouri seeking details of account dealing mid day meal Including name of account holder, designation and place of posting for the financial year 2014-15 of zone Bajarallan and zone Rajouri.
The PIO of the department in its reply vide no. Ceor/rti/2015/13043_44dted 16/9/2015 and ceor/rti /2015/14460-61 dated 29/9/2015 stated that Mid Day Meal (MDM) accounts has been opened in the name of Ganesh Dad Sr Assistant GHSS Darhal deployed to ZEO office Balzarallan and one Jagjit Singh Sr Assistant then posted at ZEO Rajouri and which are clear cut violation of mid day meal norms.
"As per Mid Day Meal norms account should be open on the name of respective ZEOs and ZEOs who were authorized to transfer the requisite amount to all the heads of the institutions falling under jurisdiction of respective zones, RTI activists said. Suspecting foul play, the activist demanded some big fish in education department have deliberately doing some foul playing to give benefit to their blue eyed.
When contacted CEO Rajouri Ch Altaf Hussain assured to initiate inquiry and will take strict action against the culprits if found guilty. |
