Early Times Report

Jammu, July 23 : Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Volunteers today held protest over atrocities against Dalits, outside the press club of Jammu on Saturday. AAP volunteers led by Raj Kumar Nischal gathered here and held demonstration against the atrocities against Dalits. Sanjeev Sareen, Advocate, Member Legal Cell, Volunteer of the AAP said that Bhartiya Janta Party's Government is totally failed at Centre as well as State level as it failed to protect the rights of Dalits all over India as well as in J&K State. "What to talk about BJP Vice-President in Uttar Pradesh highly condemnable remarks against Mayawati, there are large level of atrocities on Dalits at Modi's so called Gujarat", he said, adding that what to talk about the conditions of Dalits in BJP governed States of J&K, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, the conviction rate of atrocities on Dalits which was 48% in the year 2013 has come down to as low as 3% in 2016.
"Gujarat where four Dalits were brutally assaulted just few days ago is the only State in India where there is no panel of lawyers for the Dalits", Sareen said and added that that the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act, 1989 is not extended to J&K State, where their population is 20% as since the inception of Modi Government at Centre, it forces RSS agenda on all the inhabitants of India and particularly the Dalits are the targets of the party.
"May it be case of the death of Rohit Vehmulla of South India, Mayawati of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana where a Dalit girl was recently again gang raped by those five persons who had already raped her three years back and the Government till date had not arrested all the five accused persons involved, four Dalit victims brutally assaulted in Gujarat", he said. "These are the recent prominent instances and what about hundreds of such small incidents which are not coming to the notice of the general public. Prime Minister, Narendra Modiji is silent on all these as it is now presumed that these are the "Achchey Din" of BJP", he added. Talha Khan, Observer of the AAP for Jammu and Kashmir State, who also is a part of the protest while displaying placards in support of Dalits and against BJP specially criticized the Centre and State leadership of BJP for not behaving with Dalits as human beings and said in the times to come, Dalits from all over India will boycott the BJP as no programme for the uplifting of the poor Dalits is initiated by the Bhartiya Janta Party, whereas at Delhi the party has initiated numerous programmes for the poor and especially for Dalit community.
