Early Times Report

Jammu, July 23: The Registrar General of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court today refuted reports that the court was closed due to the unrest following Hizbul commander Burhan Wani's killing.
M K Hanjura said that both the wings of the high court, particularly the Kashmir wing, were fully operational. "There is absolutely no substances (in the reports that the high court was closed due to the unrest)," Hanjura said.
Some lawyers had told the Supreme Court that both the wings of the high court were closed during the unrest.
"The chief justice and judges, who have rosters here (in Srinagar) came regularly to court and took up matters on daily basis. We have decided some cases," he said.
"There is no truth in the allegations," he said.
Normal life in Kashmir has been hit since July 9, a day after Wani was killed in an encounter with security forces. At least 45 people have been killed and more than 3,400 injured in the violent clashes between protesters and security forces since Wani's death.
