Civil society Jammu reviews state situation

Jammu, July 23: As a consequence of meetings of civil society Jammu held on 14th July, 2016 at Jammu and subsequent meeting of the core group held in the office Chamber of Commerce Jammu on 16thJuly, 2016 a general body meeting of civil society comprising of prominent citizens, representatives of various social, religious , business and tour and travel organizations of Jammu province was convened at Jammu on 22nd of July, 2016, where a large number of people participated, representatives of all organizations and prominent citizens deliberated upon the prevailing circumstances in the state in general and valley in particular and its effects upon the law and order and economy of the other parts of the State.
In a resolution passed today , it was observed to maintain peace, communal harmony and law and order in the State at all costs and to provide the people a chance to have peace and quality of life which is denied to them from the last so many decades. It also included, to formulate and promulgate policies and programs to achieve its objectives, to identify oppose and negate all individuals and organizations who disturb the peace and communal harmony, by interacting civil society of Kashmir valley and Ladakh region, to ensure that people of Jammu are taken into confidence for any matter pertaining to State, to ensure equal opportunities for all the three regions in respect of development, employment and distribution of resources without consideration of caste, creed, religion and colour and to ensure smooth conduct of all religious pilgrimage and preservation of historical monuments.
All the speakers and participants unanimously approved the proposed aims and objects of the Forum to be established by the civil society and authorized Gulchain Singh Charak and Abdul Majid to take further steps for short term and long term measures for the furtherance of the aims and objectives of the forum and its expansion to other parts of the State.
