Jammu, July 23: The Excise Department conducted an impressive price distribution function at Amar Singh Club, Jammu today. The Excise Commissioner, J&K was the chief guest. On the occasion, prizes were distributed amongst the students of various schools of Excise Range, (Jammu North) and Excise Range, (Jammu South) who had participated in the painting competition conducted by the Excise Department on the theme "drug addiction is an invitation to death & destruction". The competition was conducted amongst the two categories of students viz Ist to 6th standard and 7th to 12th standard. Five awards in each category were announced on the occasion. The first price consisted a cash award of Rs 4000, a trophy and a certificate. The second prize consisted a cash award of Rs. 3000, a trophy and a certificate and the third prize consisted a cash award of Rs. 2000, a trophy and a certificate. Two consolation prizes of cash award of Rs 1000 and a certificate were announced on the occasion. S. Public High School. Mubassar Latifee, SSP,Crime, Jammu also spoke on the occasion and shared his experiences with the audience. At the end the Excise Department donated a consignment to the Mashwara Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for addicts, Purkhoo, Jammu being run by J&K Society for promotion of youth and masses.
